Anyone else going to be at the Jam House in Birmingham on 20th August?

Never been there but tickets are only £5.60 - what's that about?? Never had to take my passport to get into a gig before either!

Mmm, yes, think we will be there.
Fantastic price, especially as we worked out the Rewind Festival would cost £93 for both of us.....
See you then.

Looked for you but couldn't see you Teresa. We were right at the front and Garry actually had a word in my ear one of the times he jumped down off stage. Another great show but what else would one expect from these guys. New drummer new bassist. Nice place but not a serious gig venue (despite being owned by Jools Holland) - too many young trendy chatterers. A veritable wall of chattering sound throughout the show. Not unnoticed by the band. Sad and a reflection of modern times methinks. Guess that's why it was only a fiver a ticket. To be honest, if I can only see the band in places where most of the people aren't interested then I sadly think I would rather pass. Those who were interested did a passable whohoahoho in Greenbank Drive though. And at least the new website was being promoted which I think is a first (although I struggle to access it cos it tells me I don't have Flash when I do).

Anyone know what happened to Jay?

Finally guys, will the last one to leave here please turn out the lights? All good things come to an end I guess. Been nice talking to you and meeting some of you. Au revoir.

Sadly, that was also my experience earlier in the year at The Half Moon, Putney. From start to finish, the "chattering" almost cancelled out the music (Garry had to ask several times for it to be toned down). I just don't get it. Why do people do it ? It is disrespectful to both the band and those who have gone to see the performance. I know that I am in the "grumpy old man" category now but I think I speak for most genuine fans. If you want to have a chat, go somewhere else and don't spoil it for the band and the rest of us. The romantic notion that the smaller standing venues have the best atmosphere is totally destroyed when people behave like this. I know that the seated venues do not necessarily give people the chance to dance but at least you can see and hear the band. I feared Birmingham would be like Putney which is why I didn't go.

Scrapman - don't give up the faith. Remember the great gigs at Worcester. That is just the size and type of venue I think the lads should be playing and hopefully will be over the autumn and winter.

Was any announcement made about the new album ? I have not heard anything about it for a while now.

Grumpy Graeme.
